Out of the golden age of jazz, a 1920’s Harlem tradition called ‘rent parties’ is repurposed to suit our current pandemic media landscape. Rent parties were a means for tenants to eat, dance, and get away from everyday hardship and discrimination, as well as to raise funds for your neighbors, to be able to stay in their spot, to not lose their home when things got tough.
Zeitgeist's yearly fundraising celebration went online for the first time in 2020. We worked diligently to be sure all of the vibes living inside a pre-COVID Zeitgeist were still present in this program. Tech wizard, Daniel Benoit was added to the team for technical direction and his inventive spirit. 
Our livestream series from the Oldenburg House was an early effort to support the Twin Ports community's medical workers.
It also served to educate concert viewers by including call-ins from doctors and hospital staff. 
Internationally renowned performer and composer, Stas Venglevski performed this concert to benefit A World of Accordions Museum. This concert features the world premiere of composer Josh Schmidt's "suite Eleven for Accordion".
